Connectware requires Internet access for certain functions, such the Cybus Registry for authentication and the Cybus Portal for license updates. However, this depends on whether you are operating Connectware as an online or an offline instance.
The Internet Connectivity View allows you to monitor the Internet connectivity. For each entry in the table, you can monitor the name, additional information, and the connectivity status.
To open the Internet Connectivity View, select System > System Status, and click the Internet Connectivity tab.
Internet access is only necessary when installing services that rely on additional Docker containers. Services that do not use containers can always be installed and enabled without connectivity. Specifically:
Cybus Portal: If graphql-server.cybus.io
is reachable, license updates can be performed online. Otherwise, updates must be done manually by uploading a license file.
Cybus Registry: Required for installing and enabling services that use Cybus-provided Docker containers. If offline, these services can only be enabled if the necessary images are already available on the local system. Installed services that have been enabled at least once are always available for use.
Docker Hub: Needed for installing services that use public Docker images. This is not required for Connectware itself or Cybus-provided services.
